Dear Sir,

I could use a volunteer beekeeper on the evenings of Feb 20th and March 6th at the County Extension office from 6-8 pm.

We are having a 3 meeting series for intermediate levels beekeepers – the target audience are those that took the Beekeeping 101 class last year or others that are a little past the beginner stage.

The reason I could use a volunteer is that those two nights the program is from a remote location and the speaker will not be in the room.  It would help to have an experienced beekeeper present for after the lecture to take questions of a general nature.

The schedule is as follows:

Feb 20th –  Pest and Disease Defenses       Dr. Geoff Williams, Assistant     Professor, AU Entomology        Department.  Join us as we learn the newest information on how bees and beekeepers can defend their hives against pest and      disease problems.

Feb 27thMost Frequent Beekeeping Mistakes and How to Avoid Them     Mr. Lonnie Funderburg, Georgia Master Beekeeper.  Beekeeping can be a costly hobby, learn from      other's mistakes what you should NOT to do in your apiary.  (I don't need any extra help this night because Lonnie will be present)

March 6 - Spring Hive Management         Dr. James Tew, AU State Beekeeping Specialist.  Spring is the busiest time of the year for bees, learn what you need to do to keep them in peak performance this year.

Please let me know if you can identify a couple folks willing to help those evenings.

Also, let others know about the meeting just in case they want to attend the class themselves if they fit our target audience.

There is a $10 per class or $25 for series registration fee.  Folks can contact me for details on registration.

Thanks,

Tony A. Glover
